Mr. Richard S Oliver- OBE MA MBA FCSI ACIB – Honorary Treasurer

Mr. Richard S Oliver OBE is Non-Executive Chairman of Five Islands Capital Limited, a Financial Technology company based in London, with subsidiaries in Europe and The Middle East.

Previously, he had served at HSBC Group as a Vice Chairman and was subsequently Regional CEO for the Gulf & Africa region at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi. He has a number of Board positions in various countries.

A graduate of Oxford University (PPE) and City University, London (Finance), Richard is Fellow of the Chartered Securities Institute and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers

He was formerly Chairman of the British Business Group, an Abu Dhabi-based non-profit organization that works to boost trade ties between the UK and the UAE. He was also a Governor and the Treasurer of The British School Al Khubairat in Abu Dhabi, a leading school in the Arabian Gulf.

Currently he is a Trustee of three UK charities, a Governor and Treasurer of a UK School and Chairman of the local Foodbank, as well as being a Local Councillor.

In 2019, Mr. Richard has been awarded the OBE (Officer of the British Empire) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II “for services to the British community and British business in the UAE”
